This was the first assignment for this course in the UCLA Extension Online Teaching Certificate program. The research and web pages here were executed in 1997, and since that time the internet and online education have undergone many mini-revolutions in technology and applications.

I have chosen this assignment to archive it, as it is useful for many purposes. It is useful as a benchmark for my own personal work and research, and as a benchmark for comparison now and in the future of the "state of the art" for design education and the internet in 1997.

As the internet is continually evolving, it is probable that there are one or more hyperlinked items in this presentation that reference other institutions or sites that may no longer exist or have changed their URL. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
